Thanks, Randy. Wanted some sort of confirmation that it wasn't on my
side. I'll work on it over the next few days and see if I can post updates
for what I pull.

Hopefully someone can update the add-in.
It looks like they added the "exchange" a stock is listed in the url's.
Here is a nasdaq listed stock:
http://research.investors.com/stock-checkup/nasdaq-skyworks-solutions-inc-swks.aspx
And here is a AMEX listed stock:
http://research.investors.com/quotes/amex-libbey-inc-lby.htm?fromsearch=1

I have come to rely on the add-in and would like it to start working for
the stock checkup again.
The quote pages haven't changed so I can still pull info from them with the
add-in.

Thanks for any help from anybody,
Bryan

It's not a matter of updating the add-in.

For me, I can no longer create an IE security cookie, because they don't
support my old copy of IE.

It looks to me like the RCHGetTableCell-Template-IBD-Stock-Checkup.xls
template needs the following changes:

B3: =smfstrExtr(RCHGetWebData("
http://www.investors.com/search/searchresults.aspx?Ntt=
"&B2,"/quotes/"),"/quotes/",".htm")

B4: ="http://research.investors.com/stock-checkup/"&B3&".aspx"

...but I can't test the changes because I can't create the necessary
security cookie.

Randy, I just tested your changes and they worked fine. When I updated
those two fields everything else I use from IBD tested fine. I have my own
custom built sheet, so I cannot confirm that everything on the template
will work, but I suspect everything will be fine.

I was not going to be able to dig into it until the weekend, so thanks much
for knocking it out. As always, very much appreciated.

I wrote the following string to retrieve the "TTM" (trailing-twelve month) figure for Cisco's "EV-to-EBITDA".
=RCHGetTableCell("http://www.gurufocus.com/financials/CSCO",12,"treasury","","","",52,"</BODY",10000,"",1)

The result that is generated is the literal string "EV-to-EBIT", wheras the numeric datapoint is 4.70.
What am I doing wrong?

Those are some parameters you're using. "treasury" is not really a good
search term, since it's one that can easily show up as text on the web
page, or as a class, or an id, whatever. And skip 52 rows? How can you be
sure every web page will have all the same rows? They might skip some or
add some depending on the security. I'm not even sure what the 10000 for
the Look# parameter would do. And the pType parameter or 1? That's an
experimental value, not to be considered reliable.

I'd go with more specific search terms, getting right to the data, as in:

=RCHGetTableCell("http://www.gurufocus.com/financials/CSCO
",0,"/term/ev2ebitda/","yesttm")

In any case, the reason

Not sure what to tell you. I just cut and pasted it from the message and it
worked fine for me. I wonder if I get different web page strings because
I'm a subscriber?

The data isn't in an HTML table, so RCHGetTableCell() won't be able to
extract it.

Try this:

=smfConvertData(smfGetTagContent("http://www.travelfx.co.uk/","div",-2,">Buy
Euros"))

Hi

For certain tickers (such as Lockheed Martin "LMT") I keep getting errors for element numbers 3830, 3782, 3674, 3662, 3734, 3896, 3860, 3897, 3903, 3926, 3932. I think these are all Google links.

Also Morningstar elements 14388 - 14397 don't seem to work for me for financial companies.

Any ideas? They seem to work for most tickers, but not sure if there's a different address for certain companies?

Any help massively appreciated! As an aside is there anywhere we can donate? Truly one of the best resources I've come across on the internet.

For Google, it appears you need the exchange definition on the LMT ticker
symbol. So the ticker symbol would need to be NYSE:LMT.

MorningStar has this message on their website:

"We're sorry, but we do not yet have 10-year data for companies in the
Financial Services sector. We hope to have this data available on
Morningstar.com soon."

I ask that people "pay it forward" and give that donation to a worthy
charity. Thanks for the thought.
