Randy, I have Excel 2003 and will update to 2007. Do you plan on updating your computer in the next six months?

New installation, problems with Morningstar samples?

Today, I installed the newest version of the Add-In on Excel 2003, on a Windows Vista 64 bit system with IE9.0.4 .

After I enter a stock ticker, I'm getting some, but not all of the data on the Morningstar templates.

On the Key Ratios template, for example, all of the Profit Margins and Profitablity data shows "Error", except for the Revenue row.

On the Valuation Ratios template, I get Errors for all the Curr and 5-Yr Avg data, except for Forward Price Earnings, PEG Ration, and PEG Payback.

I have tried a variety of ticker symbols, made sure I don't have a Morningstar window open, and have cleared my IE temporary files, with no impact on the problem. I checked the item number for Dividend Yield (13935) against text file #4, and it matches, but still shows Error.

Is this an issue with the templates, or is there further debugging I can do?

Those data elements have been unavailable for a while now, but I had
been hoping to find a workaround. Time to give up on them and obsolete
them:

Date Routine Description 2012-02-12 RCHGetElementNumber
Obsoleted a number of Morningstar element definitions in file
smf-elements-4.txt because the web pages they were on are now
dynamically generated:
-- Elements #14058-14211
-- Elements #13935-13950
