Can someone tell me how to download the library file "RCH_Stock_Market_Functions.xla"?

It's in one of the ZIP archives of the add-in and its related files on the
SMF add-in web site.

You may need all of the files in the ZIP if you are updating to a new
version of the add-in.

Thanks for the heads up.

I just uploaded a new smf-elements-9.txt to the SMF add-in web site to correct the element definitions.

They changed the structure of the web page and are now stacking the data as two separate tables instead of displaying the data adjacent to each other in a single table.

Hi Randy! Is there a quick way I can verify if a site has "suspended" access to various data elements. For some reason Barchart still allows access to most of its elements, but has been returning errors for several days now on existing code using RCHGetElementNumber() on the Percent of Stocks Above Moving Average items ~(1195 through 1214). Has this changed? If so, is there a different method I should use to access the info? Thank you!! --Dave

Hey Randy,

Quick question, is there a function where I can pull in the data from a chart? I am trying to pull in the dates and values for the chart here:

http://www.tradingeconomics.com/euro-area/unemployment-rate http://www.tradingeconomics.com/euro-area/unemployment-rate

I want to compare data from the past 12 months.

Thanks!

Zach

Nope, sorry. I don't have a way to extract data from an image.

That's because you're using a bad search string. The function will key off the first occurrence of that string it finds. In the case of "PFCF", there are nearly a dozen before that table entry, because it's used as part of HTML tag processing. That's why I usually use the ">" trick, but it can ONLY be used if the web page is written that way. It may be necessary to look at the source code of the web page to come up with good search strings. For example, this works:

=RCHGetTableCell("http://www.gurufocus.com/stock/"&B4,1,">PFCF")

Have you looked that the GuruFocus model/template that another add-in user has uploaded to the "Uploads by Forum Members" folder of the FILES area of the Yahoo group? You could save yourself a lot of work...
