Randy, I, too, am getting errors using the MSN elements.

Using the below information here is the results. Not exactly sure when this started but has been a few days. I noticed it when trying to pull MSN data
In fact, I am getting errors on all MSN elements. I have been trying to figure out what I was doing wrong before posting the problem.

If need be I can upload the spreadsheet for you.

I just tested ramdomly over 30 elements for msn and they all fail.
Other elements are working fine -
This element for symbol GE returns 0.34 =RCHGetElementNumber(Ticker,597)

I would suggest just using the latest official release. Exit EXCEL, download it from the group, and then extract all of the files into your SMF add-in folder, replacing files as needed. Then restart EXCEL and you should have that version of the add-in, and the latest element definitions.

You can check which version the add-in is with:

=RCHGetElementNumber("Version")

I know the issue is I need to download new element definitions but it has been so long since I had to do it I am not sure what element definitions I need to download. Any help is appreciated.

Randy, I just backed off the work-in-progress version and installed the latest official release.
Closed everything and
Rebooted my machine and I still get the MSN errors.

Any suggestions on what I do next?

Those three elements are working for me, using GE or MMM as the ticker
symbol.

What do you get for:

That's the current definition of element #25, so I have no idea why you're
receiving an error -- unless the web page wasn't available when you were
trying.

Element #25 should just be doing something like this:

=RCHGetTableCell("
http://investing.money.msn.com/investments/stock-report?CR=1&AF=1&IH=1&AIE=1&AIR=1&FRH=1&FRK=1&ISA=1&ISQ=1&BSA=1&BSQ=1&CFA=1&CFQ=1&TYS=1&ITT=1&ITP=1&Type=Equity&Symbol=MMM",1,">Last

Randy, thanks for your efforts.

But in trying to fix this problem I have totally screwed up the whole thing now nothing works in the addin.

I'll have to fix that and then I'll post the results.

You'd need to extract the hyperlinks yourself. They are part of the HTML
tag, so RCHGetHTMLTable() throws them away.

Randy, I finally got this to work. But now I can't figure out how to change it so I can refer to a cell such as Ticker or just cell A1 instead of hard coding AGNC in the tag.

=smfGetTagContent("http://dividata.com/stock/AGNC/dividend","p",2,,,,">Ex-Dividend Date")

Just use:

=smfGetTagContent("http://dividata.com/stock/AGNC/dividend","p",...n...,">Ex-Dividend Date")

...where "...n..." is 2, 4, 6, 8, ... for the dates and 3, 5, 7, 9, ... for the amounts.

I'm hoping you can show me how.

I want to capture just the Dividend Payment History from the webpage.
I can't figure out how to parse this into a spreadsheet. I have looked thru the documentation
But can't figure out which function to use as this is in a list not in a table.

Can you point me to the function or provide an example?

Thank You,

You just need to use normal EXCEL concatenation to join the cell reference
into the URL string:

=smfGetTagContent("http://dividata.com/stock/"&F4&"/dividend","p",2,,,,">Ex-Dividend
Date")

They're working fine here. What do you get for:

=RCHGetElementNumber("Version")
=smfGetAParms(2742)

Do you see the appropriate web page when you go to this URL in the EXCEL
Web Query dialog?

Thanks in advance.
