Hi,

I have been using a SMF-add-in-powered spreadsheet to get 10-year financials from gurufocus for US stocks.

I've just started the free trial with gurufocus premium membership because I'd like to get 10-year financials for certain London and Toronto listed stocks.

How do I get Excel to send the proper session cookie so that gurufocus knows my Excel session represents a premium membership?

I've got IE 10 running as well and I'm logged into gurufocus with the premium account there.

I have an odd-ball setup - Windows 8, Excel 2002, IE 10. So maybe Excel 2002 is using an older version of IE dll.

Have any of you got your spreadsheet to pull financials from gurufocus' premium area such as foreign stocks? I wouldn't mind buying a newer version of Excel, so that all I have to do is to login on IE. Just want to make sure it actually works.

Thanks,
Marshall

If logging in to IE doesn't create the necessary cookie, try logging in
with the EXCEL Web Query Dialog (keyboard shortcut alt+d+d+w). In rare
situations, not exactly sure why, EXCEL appears to use an IE object that is
a different version than the browser, so the security cookie needs to be
created by the IE object instead of the browser.

With your old version of EXCEL, it may also have an old version of the IE
object? Hard to say...
